Arcodoro Ristorante Italiano & Bar
5000 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Texas
A striking restaurant full of beautiful people in a prime location with an ambitious Sardinian-influenced menu.

Arcodoro Ristorante Italiano & Bar
With soaring ceilings, expansive rooms flooded in natural light and bathed in warm terra cotta tones, Arcodoro could be a fine Italian villa.

The chattering of Italian-speaking visitors along with the aroma of wood-burning pizza and the beautiful fragrant flower arrangements just add to the fantasy. When you spot the giant frozen grapparita and bellini machines in the happy hour-flocked bar, ah, then you remember that you are in Galleria shopping territory.
  Arcodoro Ristorante Italiano & Bar

The showy bread basket assortment with chewy breadsticks leaves a great first impression. Antipasto selections are clean and easy like the insalata di anguria?a watermelon salad. If you need convincing that the pasta is fresh, just stand around the open kitchen and watch the chefs roll and cut it. Farris, owner also of Pomodoro and Arcodoro in Dallas, says he wants to share fine Italian cuisine with Texans. Grazie!

Sardegna, an Italian island, is the home of Efisio Farris, the owner and the restaurant's chef. Arcodoro is well-known for the authenticity of its Italian kitchen and famous for the Sardinian flair of its menu items.

A stunning display of whole fish and antipasti draws you forward as the rustic elegance and Sardinian influences of this Northern Italian jewel sweep you away to the Mediterranean. Breads and pizza from the wood-burning oven, Tuscan-influenced pastas, and authentic Sardinian dishes await.

In 1998, Estisio and his wife Lori opened Pomodoro in Dallas. It has won Best Italian Restaurant in Dallas since its inception. Arcodoro Dallas, the "see and be seen" bar next door, opened in 1992. It is the hangout for local celebrities, Dallas stars hockey players, visiting actors and musicians, the Dallas Cowboys, and the fashionable jet set. Arcodoro Houston opened in the fall of 1996. It was highlighted as the restaurant of the millennium in the December 31, 1999 USA Today.

Seductive Sardinia

In Texas, two brothers serve up the rustic and aromatic cuisine of Italy's ancient island.

While the Aga Khan may have put the island nation of Sardinia on the map, its distinct and flavorful cuisine is becoming a favorite among those who may not be candidates for a segment on "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." Sardinian food is the cooking of the farmers and shepherds – a simple, rustic cuisine rich in flavor and texture. The majority of the recipes have changed very little over the centuries, always incorporating the freshest ingredients of the season. Not only are Sardinian dishes unique as Mediterranean cuisine, but also several of

the food products such a bottarga (sun dried fish roe used as a flavoring for pastas and crostini) and fregola – the "cous cous" of Sardinia – are indigenous to the island. In the United States, the Farris brothers have introduced us to the remarkable flavors of Sardinia through their three restaurants: Arcodoro in Houston and Arcodoro and Pomodoro in Dallas. Lovers of fine cuisine flock to the Farris restaurants and have fallen in love with this hybrid of ancient cuisines. Noted food writer John Mariani recently had the opportunity to dine at Arcodoro and posted a review on his Virtual Gourmet Newsletter. He states, "Arcodoro is the only true Sardinian Ristorante in the United States."

Arcodoro's Private Rooms
Arcodoro's Private Rooms

Celebrate your special occasion or your corporate dinner in the casual elegance of Italy.

The Sardinian Room is a completely private room that seats up to 48. The atmosphere expresses warmth and intimacy through its various Mediterranean colors. The mural on the wall depicts the history of Sardinia and the many battles fought to keep the island their own.

The Cigar and Wine Room is an intimate setting of old world style. The back wall houses our private collection of reserve wines. The high back chairs and natural wood follows emanate the elegance and casual grace of Italy. The Cigar and Wine Room, with its own separate ventilation

system, is the perfect place to take advantage of our humidor stocked with a variety of notorious and prestigious cigars.
